Wine No 2

Wine No 2 – A gourmet of Beaujolais

Area : Antoine Sunier

Name: Beaujolais – Morgon

Beaujolais, home to young winemakers, allowed Antoine to find vineyards at reasonable prices and join a dynamic community of natural wine producers. This region has undergone « Revolution » in the 1980s by the « Gang of the Four » (Domaine Lapierre, Thevenet, Domaine Foillard and Breton) who gave Beaujolais its rightful place in the wine world.

Wine #4 – Tribute to Alsace with a delicious Gewurztraminer

Area : Trapet

Name: Alsace

Jean-Louis Trapet, famous winemaker of Gevrey-Chambertin, is no longer presented. His wife Andrée being Alsatian, herself from a vineyard family, it is quite naturally that they decided in 2002 to lead in parallel their passion in two distinct regions but fortunately fairly close geographically, with the same biodynamic convictions.

Grape(s): 100% Gewurztraminer

The dress is light yellow with green reflections, medium intensity. The disc is bright, clear, transparent.

Nose : The nose is frank, pleasant, intense. There is a dominant fruity smell, citrus fruits, lemon, cedrat, exotic fruits, pineapple, papaya and spices, ginger confit. Aeration amplifies these smells and reveals the orange zest, mango, passion fruits, peppermint, curry. Magnifique!

Tasting : The attack in mouth is slender, mellow and full-bodied. We evolve on a environment with strict and pearly vivacity. The range of aromas recalls the nose, always dominated by citrus fruits, yuzu zest, cedrat, orange, exotic fruits, pineapple, mango, papaya, spices, candied ginger, curry, white pepper, finely floral, pink. You can see a firm, tasty bitterness. The finish has a beautiful length, 8-9 caudalia, as well as frank vivacity and persistent bitterness. A treat!

Food & Wine Agreement : The winemaker recommends to combine it with a colourful cuisine such as a velvety coriander coconut carrot, a crab soufflé from the Caribbean, lobster skewers, chickpea curry or a soft and washed crust cheese.
